liveArgyll Summer Programmes

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please see below some information from liveArgyll about their Summer Programmes – Summer Reading Challenge and Sports.

Information from liveArgyll

Our library service is running a children’s reading challenge for summer 2021 which we’re very excited to be launching on Wednesday 23rd June.

Details of the challenge are as follows:

liveArgyll libraries  – Read for Summer!

We’re inviting all Argyll and Bute primary children from age 4 to 11 years to come along and read with us this summer. Your challenge – should you choose to accept it – is to read 5 books of your choosing from any of our libraries including our online library #BorrowBox. All you need to do is call into your local library and pick up some books. Alternatively you can download any eBooks or eAudiobooks from our online library or you can let our friendly, helpful library staff choose for you through our Click and Collect service available in our main town libraries.

To Read for Summer all you have to do is fill out our online form and get reading. https://liveargyll.co.uk/kids-reading-summer-challenge-2021/  Once you’ve completed the challenge you should register the five books that you have read  noting the title and author then you can go to your local library during opening hours where you’ll receive a goodie bag along with a certificate – just for you. If you are unable to visit a library we will arrange for your goodie to be delivered to your school or any alternative address (hard copy registration forms can be uplifted from your local library)

The challenge opens on Wednesday 23rd June and closes on Friday 3rd September.

Follow our liveArgyll libraries facebook page for updates on all the new children’s books that are coming your way!

We’ll be updating and sharing information throughout the summer on our libraries facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/liveArgyll.Libraries  and website: https://liveargyll.co.uk/facilities/libraries/

We’re also running our own multi activity and football camps. Bookings open on Monday 14th June at 10am and everything parents and carers need to know about the camps including how to book can be found on our website https://liveargyll.co.uk/holiday-programmes-2/

Our 4 swimming pools will also be offering fun sessions and family swim pods throughout the summer holidays and we will be sharing details and times on our website in the coming days https://liveargyll.co.uk/facilities/swimming-pools/
